Work Readiness Certificate

WORKPLACE READINESS CERTIFICATE

 

A student at Montgomery County High School will be awarded a Workplace Readiness Certificate by meeting the following qualifications prior to graduation:  

  • Complete the required 24 credits for a diploma, three of which must be within the same vocational or practical arts department.
  • Complete high school with a minimum attendance percentage of 95% and a minimum GPA of 2.5.
  • Maintain good citizenship as defined by the A+ Guidelines, including signing a citizenship affidavit prior to graduation.
  • Participate in one Job Shadow Experience, Mock Interview Day and create a job ready resumé.
  • Demonstrate satisfactory scores on identified assessments including at least Basic level on EOC tests,  and a Level 4 on each subtest of the Work Keys tests (reading comprehension, locating information, applied math, business writing, and teamwork).
  • Complete 250 hours of part-time employment in high school and receive a satisfactory evaluation from an employer or successful completion of the vocational portfolio awarded by our area vocational-technical school.
